Fixed wrapping machines cannot cover all pallet sizes—mobile equipment fills the flexibility gap
In logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, chemical distribution, and building materials sectors, pallet sizes vary significantly. Oversized goods, irregular load structures, or extremely heavy pallets often cannot be placed on traditional turntable machines. In these cases, many companies rely on manual wrapping, which is labor-intensive, inconsistent, and prone to loose film tails or inadequate reinforcement.
The self-propelled pre-stretch wrapper solves these problems by allowing the machine to travel around the load, avoiding size and weight limitations. This enhances both packaging flexibility and consistency.
Equipment Structure: Drive system + pre-stretch carriage form a mobile wrapping unit
The machine uses a mobile drive system powered by a DC motor and speed controller, guiding the wrapper around the pallet perimeter.
The pre-stretch carriage, driven by a 0.35 kW DC motor, stretches the film before application, enhancing load containment and reducing film use.
The mast is driven by a 0.20 kW motor, automatically adjusting the carriage height to match loads from 500–2100 mm. Customized models supporting 2400 mm or 2600 mm heights are available.
The machine is not restricted by pallet size or weight. Minimum packaging size supports 600 × 600 mm and loads above 50 kg, suitable for anything from standard pallets to large equipment crates.
Packaging Features: Mobile wrapping improves film adhesion and simplifies operation
The key advantage is that the machine moves while the load stays still. Loads do not need to be placed on a turntable, eliminating limitations caused by extra-wide, extra-long, or heavy products.
During operation, the drive system travels around the load while sensors maintain consistent distance for stable wrapping. The pre-stretch film carriage ensures even tension and consistent film application, reducing wrinkles and loose layers.
Available wrapping modes include bottom reinforcement, top reinforcement, and spiral wrapping, ensuring reliable containment across different materials and stacking patterns.
Battery-powered mobility eliminates the need for fixed installation or cables, enhancing workspace flexibility.
Application Scenarios: Ideal for oversized pallets, irregular loads, and temporary wrapping areas
The self-propelled wrapper covers more scenarios than turntable or rotary-arm machines:
Oversized pallets: building material boards, furniture pallets, long/wide products
Irregularly shaped goods: equipment cabinets, wooden crates, mixed-load pallets
Extremely heavy loads: no weight limit since goods remain stationary
Temporary or outdoor packaging areas: no installation required
Multi-warehouse rotation: mobile design suits shared use across workstations
For facilities handling diverse pallet sizes, frequent SKU changes, or dynamic warehouse layouts, the mobile wrapping method reduces unnecessary material handling and improves process efficiency.
Flexible mobile wrapping delivers broader adaptability
The self-propelled pre-stretch wrapper removes limits of size, weight, and installation, providing a flexible and stable solution for multi-specification and irregular loads. As warehouses demand higher packaging quality and efficiency, mobile wrapping equipment will become an essential tool for improving outbound operations and adapting to complex, changing environments.
